Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda, my mentor

"The course of our lives is determined by how we react-what we decide and what we do-at the darkest of times. The nature of that response determines a person's true worth and greatness ".

Creative Kitchen Utensil Holder

What you will need:

Magazine pages
1/4-inch dowel
Glue stick
Metal or cardboard can
Wooden balls to fit the top of the rolled paper tubes (approximately 3/8 inch)
Acrylic paints in desired colors
Paintbrush
Scissors
Thick crafts glue
Coated color wire

Make It:

1.Beginning at one corner of the magazine page, roll page diagonally around the dowel and glue the corner in place with glue stick. Remove dowel. Make enough tubes to go around the can.
2.Paint the wood balls. You will need one ball for each paper tube. Let dry.
3.Cut tubes to the same height as the container. Using craft glue adhere the tubes around the side of the can.
4.Glue a ball to the top of each tube.
5.Wrap the two bands of wire around the can and knot the ends together.

Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda, my mentor

"Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was a tireless crusader for human rights said: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?" Do not say you will do it "someday"; now is the time. Do not say "someone" will do it; you are the one. Now is the time for youth to take full responsibility and courageously pave the way for the people's triumph".
