Buttons crafts





Buttons have been around for over 4,000 years. They were initially used as decorative elements for garments and weapons, often to distinguish a person’s rank or affiliations. Today, buttons are still an important embellishment .With a wide variety of materials, designs, shapes, and sizes, novelty and designer buttons are a popular embellishment for dozens of different projects.



Some crafts ideas from Better Homes and Gardens Magazine :




To get the look on this pillow, we added ribbon to create an instant frame. Then we glued the buttons in place.
To make the buttons more secure, consider sewing them onto the pillow.











Button Letters
Perfect for a little girl's room, these felt letters are embellished with an assortment of pink vintage buttons.
Make sure to sew the buttons on the front of the letter first, before sewing the letters together.











Flower Mirror
This flower frame was once a stark wood mirror. With a bag of assorted colorful buttons, this frame
has a whole new look!
Editor's Tip: Start by gluing the biggest buttons on the bottom, then fill in the gaps with the smaller buttons to keep the layered look.
















A Beachy Look with Buttons
Transform a plain tank and flip-flops into a custom look with a few buttons. First lay out the shape on the tank top, then use fabric glue to adhere them.
To attach the buttons to the flip-flops, thread clear elastic thread through the buttons then tie it underneath.
